Remove specimen, test plate, compensator, etc. from the light
path.
1. Swing out the top lens of the condenser, and engage the 10X objective.
2. Insert the rotatable analyzer into the light path and set vibration direction
scale at the 0° position. Clamp with the clamping knob. (Fig. 30)
3. Set the polarizer scale at the 0° position.
4. Loosen the polarizer clamping knob @. Rotate the polarizer rotation
dial ², until complete extinction is obtained. At this point, tighten the
clamping knob @. (Fig. 30)
