OMRON M2 – Quick User Guide
General instructions and operation:
1. Measure blood pressure sitting down at a table, after having rested for approximately 10
minutes.
2. Place your left hand and forearm on the table, palm facing
up.
3. Wrap the cuff firmly around your left arm, between 1 cm
and 2 cm above the curve of your elbow, with the thin tube next to the middle of the curve.
4. During the reading, refrain from moving or talking.
5. Push the blue button (Start / O/I) to turn the monitor on.
6. The monitor will automatically start the reading as soon as the
blue button is pressed. When the reading was completed, the
display will show your systolic and diastolic blood pressures as
well as your pulse.
7. Take two readings, one to two minutes apart, and refer to the second reading.
8. The purpose of the first reading is to get used to the monitor and, therefore, its results (which are
usually higher) should not be taken into consideration.
The display:
1. New battery warning:
When the symbol "weak battery" is displayed, change all four batteries at the
same time.
(Four new AAA batteries)
2. Blood pressure reading:
If your systolic or diastolic blood pressure is out of the normal range, the
"pulse" symbol will blink when results are displayed.
3. Irregular pulse detection:
The blood pressure monitor includes a feature which detects irregular pulses.
If the monitor detects a pulse irregularity, the "irregular pulse" symbol will appear
next to the pulse result at the end of the reading.
4. The M (memory) button displays previous readings.
