The Bowden cable (3) must not be jam-
med when you do this.
Storage during winter
Failure to follow the storage instruc-
tions may leave fuel remnants in the
carburettor, which in turn can cause
start-up problems or permanent da-
mage.
• Start the engine and allow it to run until
it goes out due to a lack of petrol.
• Perform an oil change (see “Changing
the engine oil”).
• Preserve the engine:
- Remove the spark plug (
13) (see
“Cleaning and servicing”);
- Fill a tablespoon of engine oil into
the engine compartment through the
spark plug opening;
- Slowly pull the starter cable (
24)
several times with the safety bracket
(
2) pulled to distribute the oil
inside the engine;
Screw the spark plug (
13) back
in.
• Dispose of used oil and petrol residues
in an environmentally-responsible way
(see „Disposal/Environmental Protecti-
on“).
The petrol tank does not have to be
emptied if you add a fuel additive
to the petrol (see “Spare parts” and
the Briggs & Stratton instruction ma-
nual).

• The device, accessories and packaging
should be properly recycled.
- Carefully empty the petrol and oil
tank and take your device to a recy-
cling plant. The plastic and metal
parts used on your device can be
properly sorted according to materi-
als and grades and efciently recy-
cled.
- Dispose of used oil and petrol residu-
es at a disposal site and do not pour
into sewers or down the drain.
- Please contact our service centre for
more information.
• Disposal of your sent in defective de-
vices is carried out free of charge.
• Do not throw cut grass into the rubbish
bin; instead, take it for composting or
spread it as a mulch below shrubs and
trees.
