OPERATION
Safe Operation
Beaching
1. Slowly approach the beach
and stop the engine in no
less than 2 feet (60 cm) of
water. Make sure there are
no swimmers, boats or
other obstacles close to the
watercraft. Remember,
turning the watercraft is
impossible if the engine is
stopped.
2. Get off the watercraft and
guide it to the beach.
3. Before restarting, inspect
the impeller/jet pump area
for sand and debris. Move
the watercraft to at least 2
feet (60 cm) of water and
push the rear of the
watercraft up and down in
the water to help flush
sand and debris out of the
pump.
Never run the watercraft up onto a beach with the engine
running. Sand, pebbles, weeds and debris can enter the jet
pump and cause severe damage to it and the impeller.
Ingestion of sand into the cooling system will cause the engine
to overheat, resulting in possible severe engine damage.
