Separate SmartPilot computer and instrument power
Ano ther option is to provide separate p ower supplies to t he SmartPilot com puter
and SeaT al k system so you can have independent, switched instrument and pilot
systems.
Note:
DO NOT connect the SeaTalk RED wire at the SmartPilot terminal
WARNING: Use correct fuse
The f use supplying the instrument system MUS T be rated at 5A or
less.
T he behavior of the computer and the instruments now depend on where power
is appl ied to the system.
•
Computer AND instrument power supplies ON:
T he system will function normally.
•
Only comput er power supply ON:
T he controller and instruments do not power up .
•
Only instrument power supp ly ON:
T he controller shows a NO PILO T message .
Connecting SeaTalk or NMEA compasses
Y ou ca n connect SeaT alk or NMEA compasses to the SmartPilot com puter , either
to replac e the fluxgate compass or provide suppl ementary compass signals .
When you connect more than one compass to the autopilot system, the computer
proc esses their signals in thi s order of priority:
