Fault Finding: Chart 6
Insufficient Hot Water
(Tempering Valve Fitted)
Has there recently been a large
draw-off of hot water?
Typically the hot water inlet
temperature to the tempering valve
must be 10°C higher than the required
outlet temperature.
Confirm if a recent large draw-off has
reduced the hot water supply
temperature. Advise the customer to
allow time for the heater to recover.
Is the outlet water temperature
from the tempering valve
approximately 48ºC?
Tempering valves are generally set to
deliver water at 48 50ºC. Depending
on the insulation and length of pipe
work, water temperature can be lower
due to heat loss.
