3. NRS (Commercial Name : @Remote)
3-1 What is NRS(New Remote Service)?
NRS System is a remote service system that allows monitoring, managing, and servicing of
intelligent devices (MFPs and LaserPrinters) deployed at Customer Sites. The NRS
appliance, called Basil, and embedded type called Cumin (to be discussed later in this document) are
designed to be installed or enabled respectively at the customer’s site and to notify Sales Companies
(Via NRS Gateway/Center) with their customers’ device information such as counters, supply levels,
device status or even device failure. Sales Companies can effectively use the device information to
enhance the sales of MFP and Laser Printer with a TCO solution (by monitoring and analyzing Ricoh
and Competitive devices) and improve the level of Customer satisfaction while reducing the cost of
operation at the sales companies’ end (by automating the current operational process such as Meter
Reading & billing).
