SDE-3000EVH Players Guide
Congratulations on your purchase of the BOSS SDE-3000EVH Dual Digital Delay! All of us at EVH and BOSS hope that this unit will bring you years
of enjoyment and inspiration.
This product is comprehensive and versatile, and unique in it’s design. It combines retro” aesthetics and signature SDE-3000 tone, with many
modern features. It can be integrated into guitar rigs (and other applications) in many ways. We created this Players Guide to help you get up and
running quickly, taking into account some of the most common guitar rig applications.
Conguring Input/Output Settings for Your Rig
The SDE-3000EVH Dual Digital Delay can be used mono or stereo.
1. Press the [SETUP] button and then use the [TIME] buttons to select in;ovt”.
2. Press the [SETUP] button again.
3. Use [TIME] buttons to select in, and use the [DEPTH] buttons to set the input for Nono (MONO: most common) or
STErEo (STEREO).
4. Press the [TIME] up button to select the ovt parameter.
For most rigs, this parameter should be set to “STEREO”. If you use the L (mono) output only, the L/R outputs will be summed, even with this
parameter set to stereo. If you use both the L/R outputs, you will get stereo operation.
If you use the L/R and direct outs, you guessed it… you will get L/R stereo delay sounds from the L/R outputs, and direct sound (no eect) from
the direct out. Great for W/D/W rigs.
For more OUT settings, refer to the “Reference Manual” (PDF).
To change the unity gain level to work with your rig
1. Press the [SETUP] button and use the [TIME] buttons to select in;ovt”.
2. Press the [SETUP] button again.
3. Use the [TIME] buttons to select vniGAin”.
4. Use the [DEPTH] buttons to select the right unity gain level setting for your rig.
The SDE-3000EVH can run at Instrument or line level. If you are patching it in front of a guitar amp, it’s usually best to choose instrument level
(-20 dB).
If you are patching the SDE-3000EVH into an eects loop, you check what level setting works best with your amp, (-20 dB, -10 dB, or +4 dB) as
some loops work at instrument level, and some at line level.
You can check gain level by pushing the [ã] button. An input level meter will show in the display.
1. Mono Rigs
If you are using the SDE-3000EVH with other pedals, it’s best to place it after distortions/overdrives in your pedal chain.
Alternatively, you can use the SDE-3000EVH in an amp fx loop, which is the best option if you have a high gain amplier.
When output is set to STEREO, the SDE-3000EVH will sum the L/R outputs automatically when the L (mono) output is used alone.
You can incorporate the SDE-3000EVH loop, to take advantage of the Noise Suppression circuit. This loop can be used in many ways! Just make
sure DSP Bypass is selected, when using the pedal loop. See “Mono, using pedal loop and AMP FX loop (p. 3) for an example:
