8. FUNCTIONAL DIAGRAM VM-5S
-59-
8-2 FUNCTIONAL BLOCK DIAGRAM
1 Input amplifier
Buffer amplifier for input signals.
2 LPF
Cuts off the high frequency range.
3 HPF (Enabled for VM-5K, 5U, 5B and 5M)
Cuts off the low frequency range.
4 Integrator (Enabled for VM-5U, 5B and 5M)
Integrates the input signal to convert acceleration to velocity or velocity to displacement.
5 Output amplifier
Buffer amplifier for monitor output from the BNC connector on the monitor front panel and to
the terminal block on the rear panel (VM-5G Single Unit Instrument Rack, VM-5Y Relay
Module Unit).
6 Integrator (Enabled for VM-5T, 5D, 5N, 5E, 5A, 5L, 5J and 5C)
Integrates the PWM (pulse width modulation) signal, and converts it to a DC voltage
proportional to the measured value.
7 Zero shift
(Enabled for VM-5T, 5D, 5N, 5E, 5A, 5L and 5J. For VM-5C, only enabled on CH2.)
The input signal is zero-shifted by the DC voltage output from the integrator.
8 Programmable Gain Amplifier
Converts the input signal to the voltage level required by the detection circuit.
9 Detection circuit (Enabled for VM-5K, 5U, 5B and 5M)
Detects the input signal, and converts it to a DC voltage proportional to the vibration.
• P-P detection Peak-to-peak detection
• AVE detection Average value detection
• RMS detection (option) Effective value detection
