Requirements of the external power supply
Use an external power supply with the following characteristics:
• Rate voltage 24 VDC
• Permitted range 22.8 to 25.2 VDC
• Current consumption max. 300 mA
• Safety extra low voltage (SELV) complying with IEC 60950-1 / EN 60950-1 / VDE 0805-1
Disconnection from the external power supply
First disconnect the USB connection
Keep to the order below if you disconnect the communications processor from the external
power supply. Otherwise, you may encounter uncontrolled interruptions in communication.
Follow the steps below to disconnect the communications processor from the external power
supply:
1. First, shut down any communication via the CP 5711.
2. Disconnect the USB connection from the device to the PC.
3. Disconnect the external power supply from the device.
