Description 3
Application Area.
The three-phase machines of this series are used as industrial
drives. They are designed for a wide range of drive applications both for line
operation as well as in conjunction with frequency converters. They are
characterized by their high power density, extreme robustness, long service
life and outstanding reliability.
Intended use of the Motors.
These motors are intended for industrial installations. They comply
with the harmonized standards of the series NEMA MG1. If other/more
wide-ranging demands (e.g. protection so that they cannot be touched by
children) are made in special cases i.e. use in non-industrial installations
these conditions must have been complied with in the plant or system itself
when the motors are installed.
Use in Hazardous areas.
Explosion-proof electrical motors XP IECEx correspond to standards of
the IEC/EN 60079-0 and IEC/EN 60079-1 series. Only operate the motors in
hazardous areas, strictly complying with the specifications of the responsible
supervisory authority.
The relevant supervisory authority is responsible for determining the
hazard level of each area and classifying the zones. The types of protection
as well as the special regulation are stamped on the rating plate or in the
test certificate.
If the certificate number is supplemented with an X, to safety operate
the motor, observe the special notes in the operating instructions or if
available on the EC type examination certificate or in the IECEx certificate of
conformity. The operation with a converter must be certified. It is essential
that you observe separate manufacturer's information and instructions.
Motors Directive:
Low-voltage motors are components designed for installation in
machines in accordance with the current Machinery Directive.
Commissioning is prohibited until it has been absolutely identified that the
end product is in conformance with this locals Directives.
