Replacing the battery
(see Fig. G)
1. Turn the product over and place it on a soft
underlay to avoid scratching the surface.

Replace the battery when the product is not in use
.
3. Open the battery compartment cover

described in chapter “Initial use“.
4. Remove the drained battery by pulling the lo-
cking tab

until the battery is automatically
released. Remove the battery from the battery
compartment

Note: The LC display
1
will show then to
replace the battery. When standing on the pro-
duct if the battery is low, the LC display
1
will
display “Lo” (see Fig. C) and the product will
automatically switch off.
Note: When the product displays “Lo”, replace
the drained battery with a new battery of the
type specified under “Technical data“.
5. Insert a new battery in the battery compart-
ment

. Be sure to insert the battery correctly,
with the “+” pole up. The battery must be
pushed into the battery compartment

until
secured in place by the locking tab

6. Close the battery compartment

as described
in chapter “Initial use“.
Setting the units of weight
Note: The standard unit of weight is kilogram (kg).
The factory default setting for the product as sup-
plied is “kg”.
Press the kg / lb / st button

to select the unit
of weight. The units will be displayed in the
LC display

as follows:
Kilogram (kg): see Figure A
Pound (lb): see Figure E
Stone (st): see Figure F
Switching on your product /
measuring your weight
Tip: Weigh yourself at the same time of day
(preferably in the morning) after visiting the toilet,
with an empty stomach and without clothing to
ensure that your results are compatible.
Place the product down on a solid, flat horizon-
tal surface.
Step on to the product.
Place even weight on each leg.
If at all possible stand on the same areas of the
platform each time and do not move. Moving
during the weighing process can lead to
discrepancies in the results.
The product will start to measure immediately.
After blinking 3 times, the weight display will
display the result, as shown in, for example, Fig. B.
Note: If the product shows “oL” (see Fig. D), it
signals that the product is overloaded. Observe
the maximum capacity of 180 kg (396 lb / 28 st).
Step off the platform

. The product switches
off automatically after about 10 seconds. Until
then the weight measurement remains visible.
Note: After a change of location and follow-
ing every battery change, the product must be
re-calibrated. To do this, proceed as follows:
Step onto the product. The product will show
you an incorrect measuring result. Step off the
platform

. The product will calibrate auto-
matically.
Wait until the product switches off automatically.
Step onto the product once again. The product
will show you the correct measuring result.
Troubleshooting
This product has delicate electronic components.
This means that if it is placed near an object
that transmits radio signals, it could cause inter-
ference. If the LC display
1
indicates a problem,
move such objects away from it.
Electrostatic charge can lead to the product
failing. In cases of the product failing to work
remove the batteries for a short while and then
replace them.
