if they have been given supervision or instruction concern-
ing use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
10. The iron must not be left unattended while it is connected to
the supply mains.
11. The plug must be removed from the socket-outlet before the
water reservoir is fi lled with water (for steam irons and irons
incorporating means of spraying water).
12. The iron must be used and rested on a stable surface.
13. When placing the iron on its stand, ensure that the surface
on which the stand is placed is stable.
14. The iron is not to be used if it has been dropped, if there are
visible signs of damage or if it is leaking.
15. Keep the iron and its cord out of reach of children less than 8
years of age when it is energized or cooling down.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high watt-
age appliance on the same circuit.
2. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 10-ampere cord
should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat.
Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be
pulled or tripped over.
