Frame Delay Function / Frame Synchronizer
Frame Delay Function
The frame delay function using the format converter is
now supported when the signal format is 480i/59.94 or
576i/50.
Delaying Unconverted Input Signals
When the signal format is 480i/59.94, 576i/50, 1080i/
59.94, or 1080i/50, you can set the delay of unconverted
input signals (frame delay function).
To use the frame delay function, select the target input to
set in the Engineering Setup >System >Format >Format
Converter menu (7313.4), and select [Frame Delay] in the
pop-up window.
For details about the configuration procedure, see
“Setting Conversion Formats” in Chapter 17.
You can set the delay amount in 1-frame units, up to
eight frames.
For details about setting the delay, see “Selecting the
Input to which the Frame Delay Function Applies” in
Chapter 19.
Use an input signal synchronized to the reference signal
to obtain the same delay as that configured.
You can use the frame delay function as a frame
synchronizer by setting the delay value to “1.”
For details, see “Frame Synchronizer” (page SII-3).
Frame Synchronizer
The frame synchronizer function using the format
converter is now supported.
Synchronizing Unsynchronized
Input Signals
You can synchronize unsynchronized input signals using
the format converter (frame synchronizer).
The following two methods are available.
Using an up-converter
When the signal format is set to1080i/59.94 or 1080i/50,
the input signal can be synchronized by the up-converter.
To use the frame synchronizer, select the target input to set
in the Engineering Setup >System >Format >Format
Converter menu (7313.4), and select [480i/59.94 (with
FS)] or [576i/50 (with FS)] in the pop-up window.
For details about the configuration procedure, see
“Setting Conversion Formats” in Chapter 17.
You can synchronize the input signal to the reference
signal within a range of ±0.5 frames with respect to the
reference signal.
If the frame synchronizer is used, the up-converter
introduces a delay of two frames with respect to the
reference signal.
Using the frame delay function
When the signal format is set to 480i/59.94, 576i/50,
1080i/59.94, or 1080i/50, you can use the frame delay
function as a frame synchronizer by setting the delay value
to “1.”
