Parts and Controls
Front
VOL (volume) +/–control
Adjusts the volume when you turn the
VOL+/– control in the direction of the
arrow.
(stop) button
Press to pause, and press and hold to turn
the player off.
Jog lever (, /ENT, )
Operation Function
Press /ENT.
Play/Pause
Press and hold
/ENT.
Add a track to the
default Bookmark list/
turn off the Walkman
when it is in the pause
mode.
Move /ENT
toward .
Go to the beginning of a
playing track quickly.
Move /ENT
toward .
Go to the beginning of
the next track.
Operation Function
Press and hold /
ENT toward .
Go backwards from the
current track quickly.
Press and hold /
ENT toward .
Go forwards from the
current track quickly.
You cannot remove a track from a Bookmark list
using the remote.
For details on changing the default Bookmark list,
refer to the Operation Guide of the Walkman.
You cannot add a track to a Bookmark list in the
following cases:
while arranging the order of tracks of the default
Bookmark list using the Walkman.
while displaying a track list of the default
Bookmark list in the Walkman.
when the track you are trying to add has already
been added to the default Bookmark list.
when you are trying to add more than 100 tracks
to the default Bookmark list.
+/– button
Depending on the selected search mode,
works as follows:
All Songs”
Finds the beginning of the first track in
the previous index or in the next index.
Album,” “Artist,” “Genre,” “Recent
Transfers”
Finds the beginning of the first track in
the previous album or in the next album.
“Playlists (such as Bookmark List 1 - 5
or Trash bin list),” “Favorite 100”
Finds the beginning of the first track in
the list of tracks selected.
Rating”
Finds the beginning of the first track of
each star rating.
“Release Date”
Finds the beginning of the first track of
each artist for the list of selected release
year.
“Play History”
Finds the beginning of the first track of
the list of each played date.
Notes
If the player’s firmware version is older than 2.01,
this button may not work as described as above,
depending on the selected search mode.
For details about a firmware update, refer to the
Operation Guide of the Walkman.
Display
Clip

HOLD switch
Slide the HOLD switch in the direction
of the arrow until the yellow mark
appears. Operations using the remote are
deactivated. Even if the HOLD function is
working, “HOLD” will not appear on the
display of the remote.
DISPLAY button
The display changes each time you press
the button, as follows.
Track number, elapsed playing time
Track number, remaining time of the
track
Track number, track title
Track number, album title
Track number, artist name
Track number, playback mode
The display lights up when you press
and hold the button.
While using the remote, the display
lights up for 10 seconds. When “New
Song Pop Up” in the “Display” setting
on the Walkman is set to “On”, the
display lights up when a track changes.
The characters A to Z, a to z, and 0 to 9
can be displayed.
