23.1 Garden Shears and Battery
23 Troubleshooting Guide
Always remove the battery before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
Condition LEDs on
Charger
Cause Remedy
Garden shears do
not start when
switched on.
No electrical contact
between garden
shears and battery.
Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
Visually check the electrical contacts in the battery
compartment and on the battery.
Reinsert the battery, @ 14.1.
Battery has low
charge.
Charge the battery, @ 11.2.
Battery too hot / too
cold.
Allow the battery to warm up or cool down gradually at
ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to
20 °C).
Malfunction in
battery or garden
shears.
Remove the battery and reinsert it, @ 14.
Remove the cutting attachment and re-attach it, @ 13.
Switch on the garden shears, @ 15.1.
If the garden shears still do not start when switched on, do
not attempt to use.
The battery or the garden shears have a malfunction and
must be replaced.
Garden shears too
hot.
Allow the garden shears to cool down.
Hedge trimmer cuts
out during operation.
Battery too hot / too
cold.
Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
Allow the garden shears and battery to cool down gradually
at ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to
20 °C).
Garden shears too
hot.
