3.Engagethecutting-unit-driveswitch.
4.Risefromtheseatandcheckthatthecuttingunit
comestoastopafteraninitial0.5-to1-seconddelay.
UsingtheCuttingUnit
InterlockSwitch
1.Shutofftheengine.
2.OperatethecuttingunitdriveswitchtotheOFF
positionandturntheignitionkeytoposition
I.Thecuttingunitdriveswitchindicatorlight
shouldnotilluminate.RefertoUnderstandingthe
Operator-PresenceControl(page21).
3.Operatetheswitchtotheonposition.Theindicator
lightshouldilluminateandtheengineshouldnotstart
whenyouturntheignitionkey.
UsingtheParking-Brake
InterlockSwitch
1.Shutofftheengine.
2.Engagetheparkingbrake.
3.TurntheignitionkeytopositiontheONposition(I).
Note:Theparkingbrakeindicatorlightshould
illuminate.
4.Disengagetheparkingbrake.
Note:Theindicatorlightshouldgooutandthe
engineshouldnotstartwhentheignitionkeyisturned.
5.Settheparkingbrake,sitontheseat,andstartthe
engine.
6.Releasetheparkingbrake.
7.Risefromtheseatandcheckthattheengineshutsoff.
InspectingtheTransmission
ControlCableandOperating
Mechanism
ServiceInterval:Every250hours
Checktheconditionandsecurityofthecableandoperating
mechanismatthespeedcontrolpedalsandtransmission
pumpends.
•Removeanybuildupofdirt,grit,andotherdeposits.
•Ensurethattheballjointsaresecurelyanchoredand
checkthatmountingbracketsandcableanchorsaretight
andfreefromcracks.
•Inspectendttingsforwear,corrosion,brokensprings,
andreplaceifnecessary.
•Ensurethattherubbersealsarecorrectlylocatedandare
ingoodcondition.
•Ensurethatthearticulatingsleevessupportingtheinner
cableareingoodconditionandrmlyattachedtothe
outercableassemblyatthecrimpedconnections.Ifthere
areanysignsofcrackingordetachment,installanew
cableimmediately.
•Checkthatsleeves,rods,andinnercablearefreefrom
bends,kinks,orotherdamage.Iftheyarenot,installa
newcableimmediately.
•Withtheengineswitchedoff,operatethepedalcontrols
throughtheentirerangeandensurethatthemechanism
movessmoothlyandfreelytotheNEUTRALposition
withoutstickingorhangingup.
