Remounting
the
tine
gangs
takes
just
a
couple
)f
minutes
and
you’ll
need
a
pliers
at
most.
The

the
right
show
the
conventional
tine

where
there
is
a

(inner)

lave
been

in
position.
The
stony
pat-
erns
creates
a
much
wider
gap
between
the
iner
tine
gangs—
rocks
are
much
less
likely
to
lecome
lodged
between
them
and
the
tine
hood.
Important:
Remember
that
when
you
remount
ne
tines
on
the
tine
shaft,
they
must
be
turned
in
he
direction
that
allows
the
curved
portions
of
ne
blades
to
enter
the
soil
first!
Don’t
turn
the
nes
so
they
face
backwards
or
tilling
will
be
very
lifficuit.

rRANSMISSION
MAINTENANCE
Your
transmission
was
factory-lubricated
with
igh-quality
grease
and
should
not
require
any
dditlonal
regular
lubrication.
However,
you
should
check
for
sufficient
lubri-
ant
after
the
initial
five
hours
of
operation,
and
very
twenty-five
operating
hours
afterward.
If
needed,
use
grease
that
is
a
high
quality,
au-
imotive
petroleum-base
grease
usually
avail-
ble
at
most
hardware
or
auto
parts
stores.
'o
check
the
transmission:
.
Lay
the
machine
on
the
left
side
so
the
tine
taft
is
vertical.
.
Remove
both
right-side
tines
(see
“Tine
emoval”
this
Section).
3.
Clean
any
dirt
or
debris
away
from
the
trans¬

so
none
will
enter
the
housing.
4.
Remove
all
three
threaded
plugs
from
the
right
side
of
the
transmission.
See
Figure
12
for
their

cations.
Lubricant
should
be
visible
in
the
top
two
holes.
If
so,
replace
the
three
plugs
securely.
If
lu¬
bricant
is
needed,
see
the
following
steps.
