With the exception of the primary board, the associated electronics package is called the signal
converter and is remotely mounted. Figure 1-2 shows the electronics compartment for the remote
signal converter. The remote mounted signal converter improves performance if 1) the vibration
specification is exceeded and/or 2) the process liquid temperature vs. ambient temperature exceeds
the value specified for that of an integral converter.
The signal converter also contains a magnet driver unit that is used to power the meter’s magnet
coils. The steady state magnetic field principle, referred to as the MAG-X design concept, provides
optimum zero point stability at an optimized frequency which is a submultiple of the power line
frequency.
