Checking footbrake lever
for ease of movement
Park motorcycle, ensuring that
support surface is firm and
level.
Check lever mount 1 and pivot
point 2 for ease of movement.
If difficult to move:
Have footbrake lever checked
by a specialist workshop,
preferably by an authorized
BMW Motorrad Retailer.
Checking gearshift lever
for ease of movement
Park motorcycle, ensuring that
support surface is firm and
level.
Check gearshift lever mount 1
and pivot points 2 for ease of
movement.
If difficult to move:
Have the gearshift lever
checked by an authorized
workshop, preferably an
authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
Checking side stand for
ease of movement
Check mobility of side stand by
folding out and in.
If the side stand is stiff:
Have side stand checked
by a specialist workshop,
preferably by an authorized
BMW Motorrad Retailer.
Checking function of side
support switch
Switch off engine and fold out
side stand.
Press and hold clutch, switch
on ignition and start engine.
Engine starts.
Shift into first gear.
Engine shuts down.
If the engine does not shut
down:
Have side stand switch
checked by a specialist
workshop, preferably by an
