Maintenance work:
䉯 Replace ventilation microfilter every 2 years
based on the vehicle production date, or in
connection with scheduled brake fluid change.
Front brakes
Maintenance work:
䉯 Replace brake pads, clean brake pad contact
points in calipers.
䉯 Brake discs: Check surface and thickness,
replace as necessary.
Rear brakes
Maintenance work:
䉯 Replace brake pads, clean brake pad contact
points in calipers.
䉯 Brake discs: Check surface and thickness,
replace as necessary.
䉯 Parking brake: Check function, condition and
the brake shoe linings thickness, replace as
necessary. Parking brake shoes/linings are
excluded from coverage under the BMW
Maintenance Program.
Vehicle check
Maintenance work:
䉯 Check operation of horn, headlight flasher and
hazard warning flashers.
䉯 Check instrument and control lighting and
heater/air-conditioning blower.
䉯 Check lighting system: turn signals, back-up,
license plate, interior (incl. map, reading
lights), glovebox, luggage area lights.
䉯 Safety belts: Check condition and function.
䉯 Check windshield wipers and washer jet
positions.
䉯 Tires: Check tread depth, wear pattern, outer
condition, inflation pressure (also optional
spare tire, if equipped). If necessary, correct
pressure.
䉯 Reset Tire Pressure Monitor.
䉯 Battery: Check state of charge (magic eye) and
charge if required.
䉯 Power steering reservoir: Check fluid level.
䉯 Visually inspect all SRS airbag units for torn
covers, obvious damage or attachment of
stickers.
䉯 Rear-view mirrors, optional rear-view camera.
䉯 Coolant: Check fluid level and concentration.
䉯 Windshield washer and intensive cleaning
system: Check protection level, fluid level, top
if necessary.
䉯 Brake system connections and lines: Check
for leaks, damage and correct positioning.
䉯 Underbody, incl. all visible parts (i.e.,
transmission, rear axle, fuel lines, exhaust
system): Check for damage, leaks and
corrosion.
䉯 Steering components: Check for clearance,
leaks, damage and wear.
䉯 Final Inspection: Road test with check of:
–Brakes
– Steering
– Shock absorbers (visual)
– Transmission
Brake fluid
Maintenance work:
䉯 Replace brake fluid.
Spark plugs (connected to specific
Engine Oil Service)
Maintenance work:
䉯 Replace spark plugs at every 2nd Engine Oil
Service (approximately 30,000 miles).
