eBike battery energy content Duration of test
300 Wh approx. 1.6 h
400 Wh approx. 2.3 h
500 Wh approx. 2.8 h
625 Wh approx. 3.5 h
Note: The capacity tester can now be disconnected from the
computer for the duration of the capacity test. This allows
the computer to be used for other purposes.
If measurement is in progress, this will be shown in the Dia-
gnosticTool software. The measuring time remaining is
shown on the Stop button.
It is normal for the fan to make noise during operation. The
volume of noise that the fan makes may vary during the
measurement process.
Once the test is complete, the Finished LED indicator on the
capacity tester will light up. If the capacity tester is connec-
ted to the computer, the results of the test will be uploaded
and displayed.
If the capacity tester is not connected to the computer, the
results will be temporarily stored on the capacity tester until
it is connected to the computer, upon which they will be up-
loaded automatically. To prevent data loss, the capacity
tester must not be disconnected from the power adaptor
after the measurement has been taken. It should only be dis-
connected once the data has been uploaded to the Dia-
gnosticTool.
The capacity tester can only temporarily store the results of
one measurement. You should therefore always connect the
capacity tester to your computer once the test has finished
so that the data can be uploaded.
You can save a report of the results once testing is complete.
You can find more information about this in the operating in-
structions for the Bosch eBike DiagnosticTool.
Note: You may not be able to switch on your eBike if the bat-
tery has discharged. You should therefore always recharge
the eBike battery at least a little once the test has finished.
Fluctuations in the charging voltage supplied by the charger
may mean that the energy content of the eBike battery is not
always exactly the same once charging is complete. This is
corrected by a compensation algorithm.
The capacity tester is designed to be operated in non-indus-
trial environments, as its measurement accuracy may other-
wise be impaired. This is why you should not operate the ca-
pacity tester near sources of electromagnetic interference,
such as (two-way) radios, etc.
Multiple capacity testers can be connected to the Dia-
gnosticTool one after the other.
Manufacturing tolerances may sometimes cause the energy
content of the eBike battery to be less than that specified.
Following manufacture, the energy content of the eBike bat-
tery can decrease by as much as 0.5% a month (even if it is
not charged or discharged during this time).
If a fault occurs, LEDs (a), (b) and (c) will flash permanently
at regular intervals. An error message will be shown in the
DiagnosticTool's display. You can find a description of pos-
sible faults in the operating instructions for the Dia-
gnosticTool.
Establishing the state of charge for winter
storage
Users can discharge an eBike battery to a specific voltage
level.
If the battery will not be used for a long time (i.e. more than
three months), it is a good idea to put the battery in an op-
timal condition for storage. The optimal condition for storage
is a state of charge between 30% and 60% (i.e. two or three
LEDs lit on the state of charge display).
To start discharging, the battery must be more than 60%
charged.
Discharging will start when you select the menu item <Es-
tablish charge level for winter storage> in the Dia-
gnosticTool.
Maintenance and servicing
Maintenance and cleaning
Keep the capacity tester clean. Clean it carefully with a soft,
damp cloth.
u The capacity tester must not be submerged in water
or cleaned using a jet of water.

tronic devices that are no longer usable and de-
fective/drained batteries must be collected
separately and recycled in an environmentally
friendly manner.
Please return Bosch eBike components that are no longer
usable to an authorised bicycle dealer.
