 No Chit Under – If a business owner does not want to issue a merchant
receipt under a certain dollar amount then enter the dollar amount in this
field. Anything under the amount will not generate a merchant receipt
requiring a signature.
 Balance Inquiry – Select either Print or Display if gift cards are being
used and a balance inquiry operation is performed, does the merchant
want to print or display the customer’s balance.
 Refresh EFT Device – When the Datacap unit is connected, opening this
screen will display the software load parameters in the Datacap. If the
Datacap unit is connected or powered ON while the screen is opened,
depress the Refresh EFT Device button to display the Datcap software
load. If the merchant is accepting EMV the arrow below is highlighting the
line that will show whether EMV is active. The software load summary is
key to identifying the software version. In Canada the Mercury software
version for EMV in the Datacap device must be what appears in the
screen shot above “Mercury Host EMV Ver. 3.62 SL”. Anything
different then what appears here the V-R terminal will not recognize the
Verifone pin pad. At this point you must contact Mercury Payment
Systems to arrange getting the correct software load. Non-EMV this line
will display “Mercury Direct Ver 3.83 SL
 Communication Parameters - Select the Com port the Datacap device is
connected to (on the V-R7000/7100 additional COM ports 4, 5, & 6 will be
displayed. These additional COM ports are available if the VA-B20EB
Com port expansion box is connected).
 Baud Rate - Select the baud rate being used (baud rate for EMV
applications is 19200 and standard non-EMV applications is 2400).
 Time-out in Seconds – This is the value, in seconds, the V-R will wait
during a processing sequence from the Datacap before timing out and
returning to the transaction screen. The default is 120 seconds.
 Prompt for Duplicates – Checking this box will result in a prompt alerting
the operator that a credit card transaction exists in the batch under the
same credit card number with the same dollar amount.
 Canadian Debit Key Change & Canadian Debit Parameter Download –
Canadian operations using debit requiring changes in the pin pad would
select these options. Selecting these options will issue a command to the
pin pad initiate communication to the host to download the changes.
 Diagnostics/Load – Diagnostics mode allow you to enter a Datacap
command statement to communicate to their device manually. Selecting
Load is used to download a new load to the Datacap unit connected to the
V-R. Two (2) additional fields will appear when selected, “Phone #” and
“ID #”. Enter a 1 in the Phone # field and the serial number of the Datacap
device in the ID # field.
