9. Glossary
Bypass AC power supply
Power source of the bypass. If maintenance is required in the event of UPS
output overload or fault, the device can be switched to bypass power.
Variable-frequency mode
An operating mode to switch the AC power frequency (50Hz > 60Hz or
60Hz > 50Hz) between the UPS input and output.
Low battery voltage alarm
This indicates that battery voltage is low. The user must take measures to
prevent immediate interruption of the power supply to the load.
Standby time
The duration that the UPS can power the load for in Battery mode.
Load
A unit or device connected to the UPS output.
HE mode
High Efficiency mode. An operating mode in which the load, if within a
user-defined tolerance, is directly powered by an AC power supply. This
mode will reduce power consumption.
Manual bypass
A user-controlled rotary switch to connect the load directly to the AC mains.
After the load is switched to the manual bypass, the UPS is allowed to
perform maintenance without interrupting power supply to the load.
Mains Supply (Double
Conversion) mode
Normal work mode of the UPS. An AC power source supplies power to the
UPS and further to the connected loads (after electronic double
conversion).
Normal AC power supply
As power source for the UPS.
Relay contact point
A contact point where information is provided to the user in the form of a
signal.
UPS
Uninterruptible power supply.
Hotswap MBP
Bypass maintenance module.
