6.6 Motor
The motor must be provided with good ventilation
during operation, which means that the air vents
must be kept clean at all times.
6.7 Grinding wheels
•
The grinding or cutting wheel must never be
bigger than the stipulated diameter.
•
Check the specified rotating speed of the
grinding or cutting wheel before use.
•
The maximum speed of the grinding or
cutting wheel used must be higher than the
idle speed of the angle grinder.
•
Only use grinding or cutting wheels which are
approved for a minimum rotating speed of
8,500 RPM and for a circumferential speed of
170 ft/s (52 m/s).
•
Check the direction of rotation when you use
diamond cutting wheels. The directional arrow
on the diamond cutting wheel must point in
the direction in which the tool rotates.
Take special care that the grinding/sanding
wheels are properly stored and transported.
Ensure that the grinding/sanding wheels are
never exposed to shock, jolts or sharp edges (for
example during transport or storage in a toolbox).
This could cause damage (such as cracks) to the
grinding/sanding wheels and place the user in
serious danger.
Warning!
6.8 Practical tips
6.8.1 Roughing work (Fig. 15)
Important! Use the guard for grinding
(included in delivery). For the best results when
doing roughing work, apply the grinding wheel at
an angle of 30° to 40° to the grinding plane and
move it back and forth evenly over the workpiece.
6.8.2 Abrasive cutting (Fig. 16)
Important! Use the guard for cutting.
Do not tilt the angle grinder in the cutting plane
when performing cutting work. The cutting wheel
must have a clean cutting edge. To cut hard
masonry, it is best to use a diamond cutting
wheel.
Use on materials containing asbestos is
prohibited!
Never use cutting wheels for roughing
work.
Note:
For optimum results, use P-X-C rechargeable
batteries with a capacity of over 3.0 Ah.
7. Cleaning and maintenance
HAZARD!
Always take the battery out of the equipment
before starting any cleaning work.
7.1 Cleaning
•
Keep all safety devices, air vents and the
motor housing free of dirt and dust as far as
possible. Wipe the equipment with a clean
cloth or blow it down with compressed air at
low pressure.
•
We recommend cleaning the equipment
immediately each time after use.
•
Clean the equipment regularly with a damp
cloth and some soft soap. Do not use
cleaning agents or solvents; these may
be aggressive to the plastic parts in the
equipment. Ensure that no water can get into
the interior of the equipment. The ingress of
water into an electric power tool increases the
risk of an electric shock.
