understand the available cutting heights for this unit.

To set the cutting height at 1-3/4” (4,5 cm):

1. Pull the deck lift lever (A, Figure38) back towards the

operator position until it locks into the 4-1/2" (11,4 cm)

TRANSPORT position.

2. Remove the cutting height adjustment pin (B) from the

hole that it is installed in and put it in the storage location

hole (A, Figure37).

3. Pull the deck lift lever back towards the operator position

and depress the deck lift release button (C, Figure38) to

release the transport position lock.

4. Push the deck lift lever forward until it contacts the

stationary pin in the 1-3/4" (4,5 cm) hole.

To set the cutting height in the range of 2” (5,08 cm) and

4-1/4” (10,8 cm):

1. Pull the deck lift lever back towards the operator position

until it locks into the 4-1/2" (11,4 cm) TRANSPORT

position.

2. Place the cutting height adjustment pin in the desired

cutting height hole.

3. Pull the deck lift lever back towards the operator position

and depress the deck lift release button to release the

transport position lock.

4. Push the deck lift lever forward until it contacts the cutting

height adjustment pin.

To set the cutting height at 4-1/2" (11,4 cm):

1. Pull the deck lift lever back towards the operator position

until it locks into the 4-1/2" (11,4 cm) TRANSPORT

position.

2. Place the cutting height adjustment pin in any open hole.

The deck lift lock latch (D) holds the mower deck at the

4-1/2" (11,4 cm) position while cutting.

Note:Make sure that the cutting height adjustment pin is

inserted into the holes in both upper and lower plates of the

pin box (E).

Neutral Adjustment

The neutral system for this mower is a function of the

transaxles.

1. Drive the machine to a flat, level surface. Engage the

parking brake and disengage the PTO.

2. Without touching the forward speed control levers

disengage the parking brake. If the unit moves, the

neutral systems on the transaxles are not correctly

adjusted. See your dealer.

Neutral Lockout and Tracking

Adjustment

Before making adjustments to the neutral lockout or the

unit's tracking, be sure to check the following:

• Drive tires are properly inflated.

• Caster tires are greased and turn freely.

• All controls are free from damage and operate freely.

• Machine is at full operating temperature.

• Make sure that the machine is in NEUTRAL when

the ground speed control levers are released per the

procedure detailed in Neutral Adjustment.

Positioning the Parking Brake Handle

1. Park the machine on a flat level surface such as a

concrete floor. Disengage the PTO, engage the parking

  If your Ferris Lawn Mower engine won't turnover or start, it could be due to several reasons. First, ensure the parking brake is engaged. If that's not the issue, check the fuel level; if the engine is hot, let it cool before refilling the fuel tank. Other potential causes include a blown fuse (replace it), dirty battery terminals (clean them), a discharged or dead battery (recharge or replace it), loose or broken wiring (check and repair), a faulty safety interlock switch (replace as needed), faulty spark plugs (clean, gap, or replace), water in the fuel, or old/stale gas (drain and replace with fresh fuel). For fuel injected models, a malfunction in the fuel injection system could also be the cause, which requires attention from an authorized service dealer.

  Streaking during mowing with your Ferris Lawn Mower can occur for several reasons. It might be because the blades are dull or worn, requiring sharpening or replacement. Ensure you're mowing at full throttle and not moving too fast. A deck plugged with grass can also cause streaks, so clean it out. Overlap your cutting rows and turns adequately to prevent this issue.
