the internal memory. This enables the DJ to scan quickly to a starting point
for easier mixes during a live session.
To store this cue point follow the steps to store a cue point.
Once you are satisfied with your cue point, press & hold the M
EMO/STORE
(12) button for two seconds in order to store this cue point. If you are not
satisfied with this cue point repeat the steps to store a cue point.
Your cue is now saved & can be recalled at any moment long after you
have stopped playing with this CD. You will notice the A
UTO CUE LED will
flash in the LCD (16) once this cue point has been saved successfully.
The cue point has now been stored in the memory of the iCFX or CFX-
20 and can be recalled in P
AUSE mode. You will notice the AUTO C
UE
LED
blinking indicating that the iCFX & CFX-20 recognize a stored cue point
on the CD. Simply scroll to any track that has a cue point stored. Press &
hold the B
RAKE
/RECALL CUE
(23) knob until the cue point appears on the
LCD screen. Press play & the stored cue point will start from that point.
SEAMLESS LOOP:
Press the L
OOP IN (17) button to enter an entry point into the
memory, & the LOOP IN's (17) LED will blink rapidly while memo-
rizing the loop entry point into the memory.
After an entry loop point is memorized, press L
OOP OUT (18) in play mode
to complete the loop. The unit will automatically repeat the section
between the loop's entry point, programmed with the pressing of the L
OOP
IN (17) button, & a second exit loop point, when the LOOP OUT (18) but-
ton is pressed. The loop is now programmed into the unit's memory.
While playing the loop, both the L
OOP IN (17) & LOOP OUT (18) LEDs will
blink to indicate that the loop is in use. You will notice the LCD (16) will
also indicate that the L
OOP
is in use with a blinking C
UE-B icon that will
remain steady once the loop has been stopped.
Press the R
ELOOP
(19) for the unit to return to the previously set loop.
Press the R
ELOOP (19) repeatedly for stuttering the loop entry point. The
R
ELOOP (19) function automatically returns the music to the loop point &
will play the loop until it is released with the L
OOP OUT (18) button.
Press the B-E
DIT (20) button to edit the loop created by your SEAMLESS
LOOP. When pressing B-EDIT (20), the LCD (16) will read the frame where
the LOOP OUT (18) is set. You may adjust it with the use of the JOG WHEEL
(22), by turning the wheel left or right examining frame by frame while the
loop repeats itself. You should be able to hear the difference in each frame
until you are satisfied with your loop exit point. Press B-E
DIT (20) when
you are satisfied with your exit point & your loop will continue to play until
you press LOOP O
UT
(18).
To exit the loop & resume play, press L
OOP OUT (18) to stop the loop &
continue play from the point where the loop ends.
SLEEP MODE:
The iCFX & CFX-20 feature a default S
LEEP mode that activates itself when
the unit recognizes that it has not been in use for some time. This feature
simply shuts O
FF the laser to increase the longevity of the unit’s playing
capabilities. You will notice the LCD (16) reads SLEEP when this mode is
activated. To deactivate this default mode, begin play & the unit will “wake
up” to play music once again.
TROUBLESHOOTING:
· If the disk will not play, check to see if the disc was loaded correctly
(label side up). Also check the disc for excessive dirt, scratches, etc.
· If the disc turns but there is no sound, check the cable connections. If
they are okay, check your amplifier or receiver.
· If the CD skips, check the CD for dirt or scratches. Do not assume that
the CD player is defective. Many CDs are recorded out of spec & will skip
on most or all CD players. Before sending the unit in for repair, try playing
a CD that you are sure plays properly.
