Clutch System

Refer to Safety Precautions on page 39.

Inspection

Check freeplay.

Freeplay: 3/8 – 13/16 in (10 – 20 mm)

If necessary, adjust to the specified range.

Improper freeplay adjustment can cause

premature clutch wear.

Upper Adjustment

Minor adjustments are generally made with the

upper clutch cable adjuster.

Upper clutch assembly adjuster:

1.Pull the rubber dust cover (2) off.

2.Loosen the upper lock nut (3).

3.Turn the upper clutch cable adjuster (4) to

obtain the specified freeplay.
