7. Measure the free play at the top of the
manual decompressor lever (7).
Free play: 5-8 mm (3/16 - 5/16 in)
To adjust: Loosen the manual
decompressor lock nut (2) and turn the
adjusting nut (1).
Other Checks:
Check the decompression cable for kinks or
signs of wear that could cause sticking or
failure. Lubricate the decompression cable
with a commercially available cable lubricant
to prevent premature wear and corrosion.
