System board
NOTE: The system board spare part kit includes replacement thermal materials.

System board (includes replacement thermal materials):
All system boards use the following part numbers:
xxxxxx-001: Windows 7 or non-Windows operating system
xxxxxx-601: Windows 10
For use in models with discrete graphics:
Intel Core i7-6500U processor and 4 GB of dedicated video memory (R7M1-70) 856691-xxx
Intel Core i7-6500U processor and 2 GB of dedicated video memory (R5M1-30) 856689-xxx
Intel Core i5-6200U processor and 2 GB of dedicated video memory (R7M1-70) 856686-xxx
Intel Core i5-6200U processor and 2 GB of dedicated video memory (R5M1-30) 856685–xxx
Intel Core i3-5005U processor and 2 GB of dedicated video memory (R5M1-30) 856693-xxx

Before removing the system board, follow these steps:
1. Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is o or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3. Disconnect the power from the computer by rst unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then
unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 32).
5. Remove the optical drive (see Optical drive on page 33).
6. Remove the bottom cover (see Bottom cover on page 39).
NOTE: When replacing the system board, be sure that the following components are removed from the
defective system board and installed on the replacement system board:
Memory modules (see Memory module on page 47)
WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 44)
