Operation
How
the
3270
Card
operates
depends
on
the
application
soft-
ware
being
used.
Refer
to
the
documentation
that
came
with
your
application
software
for
instructions
on
how
to
install
and
use it.
For
information
on
available
software
for
the
card,
see
your
per-
sonal
computer
dealer.
Diagnostics
The
diagnostic
programs
you
use
for
the
3270
Card
are
on
the
diagnostic
diskettes.
Select
the
diskette
that
fits
your
personal
computer.
Note:
Make
a
copy
of
the
diagnostic
diskette,
and
store
the
ori-
ginal.
To
load
the
diagnostic
programs:
1.
Set
the
power
switches
for
all
external
devices
to
on.
2.
If
your
display
has
brightness
or
contrast
controls,
make
sure
they
are
turned
fully
clockwise.
When
the
power-on
self-test
(POST)
completes,
adjust
the
controls
for
better
viewing.
3.
If
your
system
unit
has
a
key
lock,
make
sure
it
is
unlocked.
4.
Insert
the
diagnostic
diskette
for
the
3270
Card
in
drive
A
with
the
label
side
up and
towards
you.
5.
Set
the
system
unit
power
switch
to
on.
When
POST
completes
successfully,
the
diagnostic
programs
load,
and
Menu
1
appears
on
the
display
screen
(see
"Menu
1
(Select
an
Option)"
on
page
14).
Note:
If POST has
errors,
refer
to
the
hardware
maintenance
manual
for
your
personal
computer.
The
following
sections
show
the
main
diagnostic
menus
and
briefly
describe
the
purpose
of
each
menu
option.
