v Solid-state drives (SSDs) and hard disk drives (HDDs) can be mixed in any combination within the
internal disk enclosure.
Example: Base backplane
This example shows a base backplane configuration on the 8202-E4C, 8202-E4D, 8205-E6C, or 8205-E6D
systems.
The following table lists the details of the base backplane configuration on the 8202-E4C, 8202-E4D,
8205-E6C, or 8205-E6D systems.

Embedded SAS Configuration details
Storage controller (on base system board)
v The base backplane is located at Un-P1.
v The controller reports as CCIN 57C7.
v Six JBOD drives (Un-P2-D1 - Un-P2-D6, two closed
filler bays) are included on base disk drive backplane.
v Embedded module supports JBOD, RAID 0, and RAID
10.
v There is a single path to each drive.
v RAID-0 storage is supported.
SAS base subsystem with two-way split drive backplane for the
8202-E4C, 8202-E4D, 8205-E6C, or 8205-E6D
This configuration uses a two-way split backplane.
The following rules apply to this configuration:
