8 Weight and balance
Place the aircraft in a level position on three scales with the stabilizer and
elevator leveled (0°).
The center of gravity is measured in mm or inches in relation to the reference
datum and then calculated as a percentage of the wing chord. X1 is to be
used as a positive and X2 as a negative value in the formula.
BP: reference datum (leading edge)
Wing chord MAC = 53.5 inches (1360 mm)
BE BP = 39.37 inches (1000 mm)
X1 = 9 inches (230 mm)
X2 for C42 / B / C = 69.68 inches (1770 mm)
X2 for C42CS = 69.88 inches (1775 mm)
