PROBLEM
CAUSE SOLUTION
The bobbin thread
breaks
• The bobbin has been tted incorrectly into the
bobbin case.
• The bobbin thread has been threaded incorrectly.
• The bobbin thread tension is too tight.
• Fit the bobbin into the bobbin case correctly (see page 12).
• Thread the bobbin thread correctly (see page 12).
• Reduce bobbin thread tension (see page 24).
The top thread
breaks
• The top thread has been threaded incorrectly.
• The top thread tension is too tight.
• The thread is too thick or thin for the needle.
• The needle has been tted incorrectly.
• The thread has got stuck on the spool pins.
• The needle is damaged.
• Re-thread the sewing machine and the needle
(see page 13).
• Reduce the tension (see page 24).
• Fit different thread.
• Remove the needle and re-t it (see page 22)
• Remove the spool of top thread, turn it round so that the thread
comes from the back of the spool, and use the felt pads.
• Fit a new needle (see page 22).
Stitches are
missed out
• The needle has been tted incorrectly or
is damaged.
• Wrong presser foot.
• Remove the needle and re-t it or t a new needle (see page 22).
• Fit the correct presser foot.
The needle breaks • The needle has been tted incorrectly or
is damaged.
• You pull the fabric while sewing.
• Remove the needle and t a new one (see page 22)
• Let the machine feed the fabric through
automatically.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
