For best per formance, the basket should be
cleaned once a week and the filter cartridge
once a month; however, this is also dependent
on the frequenc y of use of the hot tub.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Turn off power to spa.
A. Remove the cover, unscrew the car tridge and extrac t it.
C. Rinse the impurities out of the folds in the filter using pres-
surised water. Work from the top down. Repeat until all folds
are clean.
Reinstall the cartridge and connect the spa to the power supply.
J-210 models include filters on their footwell suction covers
(shown right) that prevent debris from entering the pump
These filters must be cleaned every 2 months or when the
pump per formance has decreased.
(J-280 models)
These models are equipped with a container-bag (which col-
lects larger impurities) and a filter cartridge, both located in
the sk immer.
For best per formance, the bag should be checked and cleaned
1-2 times per week and the filter cartridge once a month;
however, this is also dependent on the frequency of use of the
hot tub.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Disconnect the hot tub from the power supply.
A. T. Pull up the top using the handles provided
B. Unclip the container-bag and clean it.
C-D. Unscrew the cartridge and pull it out.
E. R inse the folds of the filter, starting at the top and proceed-
ing downwards.
F. Immerse the car tridge with the threaded end facing upwards
in order to allow any air bubbles to escape (keep the car tridge
under water until it is reinstalled).
G-H-I. Reinstall the car tridge and reattach the bag to the cov-
er, sliding this down into place.
Connect the hot tub to the power supply.
(all models)
Periodically, the cartridge should be cleaned thoroughly using
a specific product available from Jacuzzi® service centres; care-
fully follow the instructions supplied with the product.
With a suitable hot tub water treatment and routine mainte-
nance of the cartridge, the latter should last around two years.
Spare units are available from Jacuzzi® service centres.
Draining and refilling
About ever y 3 months, you will want to replace the water in
the spa. Frequency of water replacement depends on fre-
quency of use, care taken in maintaining water quality, etc.
You will know it is time for a change when you c annot control
suds and/or you can no longer see the normal spark le to the
water, even though the key water balance measurements are
all within the proper parameters.
WARNING! Turn off power to spa before draining it. Do not
turn the power back on until your spa has been refilled.
If it is ex tremely cold, and the spa is outdoors, freezing could oc-
cur in the pipes of the hydraulic system (see the section on “ Win-
terizing”).
If the weather is very warm, do not leave the spa exposed to di-
rect sunlight.
To drain your spa, per form the following steps:
Tu rn off p ower to spa.
1. Remove the front panel (found where the control panel is
located) in order to gain access to the technical compar tment.
