Installing Squeezebox Boom
A Word About the Operating Environment
Squeezebox Boom is intended primarily for indoor use. It can be used
outdoors temporarily when adequate protection is provided against moisture
and extreme temperatures. When using outdoors, be sure to keep it out of
direct sunlight, as it may cause interference with the infrared sensor. For
more information, see Safety Information later in this guide.
Setup at a Glance
Setting up your Squeezebox Boom for the fi rst time consists of four steps:
Making a note of your wireless settings. If you’re connecting your 1.
Squeezebox Boom to your network using an Ethernet cable, you can
skip this step.
Creating a SqueezeNetwork account and, optionally, downloading 2.

Setting up your Squeezebox Boom and connecting it to your network3.
Selecting a music source and listening to some music to confi rm that 4.
setup was successful.
Make a Note of Your Network Settings
If you can connect a computer to your wireless network, you should have
little trouble setting up your Squeezebox Boom. Gathering information
about your network now will make it easier to confi gure your Squeezebox
Boom.
