ENGAGING SHALLOW WATER DRIVE
1. Reduce engine speed to idle in forward gear. Take hold of the top cowl grip and raise outboard to the higher
tilt position. The spring loaded tilt lock lever will engage automatically and lock the outboard in the shallow
water drive position.

2. Ensure the cooling water intake is submerged.

IMPORTANT: Operate outboard at slow speed for shallow water operation and keep the cooling water intake
submerged.
3. To release outboard back down to run position, tilt outboard up slightly and pull up on the tilt release lever.
Gently lower outboard down.

Setting The Operating Angle Of Your Outboard
The vertical operating angle of your outboard is adjusted by changing the position of the tilt pin in the adjustment
holes provided. Proper adjustment allows the boat to achieve optimum performance, stability, and minimize
steering effort.
