rearseattofastentheirseatbeltscorrectly.
Otherwise,passengerswithseatbeltsnot
correctlyfastenedwillbethrownforwardin
accidents,andwillendangerthemselvesas
wellasthedriverandotherpassengers.
Whenthevehicleisinmotion,thetravellingspeedofthe
occupantsisidenticaltothatofthevehicle.
Intheeventofa‘headoncollision’oremergencybraking,
thevehiclemaystop,buttheoccupantswillcarryon
travellinguntiltheycomeintocontactwithastationary
object.Thisobjectmaybethesteeringwheel,dashboard,
windscreenorfrontseats.
Acorrectlyfastenedseatbeltwilleliminatethisriskof
injury.Whentheseatbeltisworncorrectly,itwilllock
automaticallyincollisionaccidentsoremergencybraking
toreduceyourspeedtogetherwiththevehicle,soas
topreventtheout-of-controlmovementwhichmaycause
seriousinjurytodriverandpassengers.
