 Feed the wax cloth into the ironer from the left or right side at the
necessary intervals across the entire working width of the ironer.
 Press and hold the button for at least 3seconds once waxing is
complete.
Waxing mode is deactivated.
Tip: To maintain the smooth surface of the heater plate, we recom-
mend waxing it after every working day.
Padding instructions
Before the ironing cloth can be removed for the purpose of cleaning
or replacing the roller, the ironer must be switched off and the heater
plate allowed to cool down.
Removing the
ironing cloth
 The ironing cloth on the PM1217 with leaf-spring padding
must only be removed or replaced by MieleService.
If the ironing cloth is removed without authorisation or the aid of
MieleService, there is a risk of damaging the leaf-spring padding.
Before the ironing cloth can be removed, the laundry pickers on the
roller need to be fully retracted one after the other.
 Switch on the ironer by pressing the button.
 Press and hold the button for longer than 3seconds.
The heater plate disengages and is locked into this position.
 Repeatedly press the -button to reverse the roller incrementally (jog
mode).
 Take the end of the ironing cloth and put it on the laundry infeed ta-
ble.
 With the roller in reverse, completely remove the ironing cloth.
 After this, press and hold the button for longer than 3seconds to
deactivate the maintenance position.
Wire wool residues may fall onto the laundry infeed table while the
ironing cloth is being taken off. These residues must be removed.
