The RB260GS (CSS106-5G-1S) and RB260GSP (CSS106-1G-4P-1S) is a small switch with five Gigabit Ethernet
ports.

Choose your powering solution, please see Powering section for possibilities.
Connect your Internet cable to port 1, and local network devices to ports 2-5.
Set your computer IP configuration to automatic (DHCP).
Connect your direct input power jack if not using POE, to start up the device.
The Initial connection has to be done via the Ethernet cable, using the MikroTik Winbox utility.
Use Winbox to connect to the default IP address of 192.168.88.1 from any port, with the username admin
and no password.
We recommend clicking the “Check for updates” button and updating your system software to the latest
version to ensure the best performance and stability.
Set up your password to secure the device.
Mounting
This device is designed for use indoors by placing it on the flat surface or mounting on the wall, mounting points are
located on the bottom of the device, screws are not included in the package. Screws with size 4x25 mm fit nicely,
depending on your wall structure you can use dowels 6x30 mm and 6 mm drill bit if needed.
When mounting on the wall, please ensure that cable feed is pointing downwards. We recommend using shielded
Cat5/6 cable for our devices. The IP rating scale for this device is IPX0.
Powering
The device accepts power from the power jack or from the Ethernet port:
Direct-input power jack (5.5 mm outside and 2 mm inside, female, pin positive plug) accepts DC 11-30 V.
Ethernet port accepts passive Power over Ethernet DC 11-30 V.
The power consumption under maximum load can reach 5 W. RB260GSP version with attachments 53 W.
Connecting to a POE Adapter:
1. Connect the Ethernet cable from the device to the POE port of the POE adapter.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from your LAN to the LAN port of the POE adapter, please mind arrows for data
and power flow.
3. Connect the power cord to the adapter, and then plug the power cord into a power outlet.
RB260GSP version Ethernet ports 2-5 can power other PoE capable devices with the same voltage as applied to
the unit (passive PoE over data lines only).
Configuration
Once logged in, we recommend clicking the “Check for updates” button in the QuickSet menu, as updating your
RouterOS software to the latest version ensures the best performance and stability. For wireless models, please
make sure you have selected the country where the device will be used, to conform with local regulations.
RouterOS includes many configuration options in addition to what is described in this document. We suggest
starting here to get yourself accustomed to the possibilities: https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/SwOS/CSS106 . In case
IP connection is not available, the Winbox tool (http://mt.lv/winbox) can be used to connect to the MAC address of
the device from the LAN side (all access is blocked from the Internet port by default).
For recovery purposes, it is possible to boot the device for reinstallation, see section Buttons and Jumpers.
