2. Press the trunk lid opener switch to open the
trunk lid. The trunk lid will pop up slightly.
Lift it to open the trunk.
NOTE
l
When
the LOCK switch of the keyless entry
system has been used to lock all of the doors,
pushing the trunk lid opener switch does not
make the trunk lid open.
Before using the trunk lid opener switch, you
must press the UNLOCK switch of the key-
less entry system.
Refer to “Keyless entry system” on pages
1-04 and 1-19.
Using the remote control switch
Press the electric trunk lid switch or the OPEN
switch on the trunk lid. (See “Keyless entry sys-
tem” on pages 1-04, 1-19 or “Keyless operation sys-
tem” on page 1-07.)
The trunk lid will pop up slightly. Lift it to open
the trunk.
To close
Pull the trunk lid grip (A) downward as illustrated
and let it go before the trunk lid closes completely.
Gently close the trunk lid from the outside so that it
is completely closed.
CAUTION
l
When
closing the trunk lid, always en-
sure your or other person’s fingers can-
not be caught by the trunk lid.
l
To avoid injuring your hand or arm, do
not attempt to close the trunk lid without
letting go of the trunk lid grip.
NOTE
l
Gas
struts (B) are installed to support the
trunk lid. To prevent damage or faulty opera-
tion,
Do not touch, push or pull the gas struts
when closing the trunk lid.
Do not attach any plastic material, tape,
etc., to the gas struts.
Do not tie string, etc., around the gas struts.
Do not hang any object on the gas struts.
NOTE
l
The
trunk room lamp illuminates when the
lid is opened, and off when it is closed.
l
The trunk room lamp remains illuminated for
a certain period and then goes off automati-
cally.

out function” on page 5-86.
