Foreachadjustmentoperation,selectadjustingshimsandmeasureseparatelyusingamicrometer,thenaddup
therecordedvalues.Donotrelyonmeasuringtheentireshimmingset,whichmaybeincorrect,ortheratedvalue
indicatedoneachshim.
ROTATINGSHAFTSEALS
Forcorrectrotatingshaftsealinstallation,proceedasfollows:
•
beforeassembly,allowthesealtosoakintheoilitwillbesealingforatleastthirtyminutes.
•
thoroughlycleantheshaftandcheckthattheworkingsurfaceontheshaftisnotdamaged.
•
positionthesealinglipfacingtheuid;withhydrodynamiclips,takeintoconsiderationtheshaftrotationdirection
andpositionthegroovessothattheywilldeviatetheuidtowardstheinnersideoftheseal.
•
coatthesealinglipwithathinlayeroflubricant(useoilratherthangrease).Fillthegapbetweenthesealinglipand
thedustlipondoublelipsealswithgrease
•
insertthesealinitsseatandpressdownusingaatpunchorsealinstallationtool.Donottapthesealwitha
hammerormallet.
•
whilstinsertingtheseal,checkthatitisperpendiculartotheseat;oncesettled,makesurethatitmakescontact
withthethrustelement,ifrequired.
•
topreventdamagingtheseallipontheshaft,positionaprotectiveguardduringinstallationoperations.
O-RINGSEALS
LubricatetheO–RINGsealsbeforeinsertingthemintheseats.Thiswillpreventoverturningandtwisting,whichwould
jeopardizesealingefciency.
SEALINGCOMPOUNDS
Applyoneofthefollowingsealingcompoundsonthematingsurfaceswhenspecied:SILMATE®RTV1473,or
LOCTITE®RTV598orLOCTITE®INSTANTGASKET587BLUE.Beforeapplyingthesealingcompound,preparethe
surfacesasdirectedonproductcontainerorasfollows:
•
removeanydepositswithawirebrush
•
thoroughlyde-greasethesurfacesusingalocally-approvedcleaningagentsuchassafetysolventorbrakeparts
cleaner.
SPAREPARTS
UseonlyandoriginalNEWHOLLANDparts.
Onlygenuinesparepartsguaranteethesamequality,durationandsafetyasoriginalparts,astheyarethesame
partsthatareassembledduringstandardproduction.OnlyandoriginalNEWHOLLANDpartscanoffersucha
guarantee.
