1. Connect the TV VIDEO input to the TX-108/88
MONITOR “OUT” jack. There is no need to perform
an audio connection since sound will be sent directly
from the TX-108/88 to the speaker systems.

2. The TX-108/88 does not have an RF modulator.
Therefore, tt can be used with only a monitor TV
equipped with a video input jack.
. Since the television set, tuner (FM/AM) section of this
unit can cause interference that may disrupt sound
and/or picture quality, the TV and TX-108/88 and their
respective connection cables should be placed as far
apart as possible. The use of acommon TV/FM antenna
is not recommended (see antenna section).

i; System Power Switch (SYSTEM POWER)
Press this switch to turn on power when the unit is in
the standby mode. Power can also be turned on by
using the remote contro! power key.
Main Power Switch (MAIN POWER)
Press this switch to set this unit to the standby mode
in which power can be switched on and off by the front
panel system power switch and remote control power
key. The power indicator above the main power switch
lights when the unit is in standby mode and during
operation.
Alternate Audio Key and Indicator (ALTERNATE
AUDIO)
Use this key to switch to a different audio source
(TUNER/PHONO/CD/TAPE-1) while viewing either
of the sources controlled by the video selectors
VCR-1/VDP, VCR-2. Examples of how this function
can be used include listening to arecord while watching
a camera recording or listening to an FM broadcast
along with a CATV program. This key can be used only
when the VCR-1/VDP or VCR-2 input selector is de-
pressed. To use, first press this key and ther press the
audio input selector of the desired audio source. Note
that it is not possible to switch video sources while
using the alternate audio function. To switch from
VCR-1/VDP to VCR-2, for example, first press this key
to switch off the alternate audio function and then press
the VCR-2 key.
