onto the
welding mask
7
, as shown in Fig. B.
The protective glass
10
must be
pushed in at the top.
Note: If it is not possible to push the
protective glass
10
in fully, then press
gently on the protective glass
10
from
the outside.
Using the device
Welding preparation
Note: If you adjust the current, check
whether the manual wheel
3
can still
move and that the lead screw is not
jammed.
Note: If the clamping force of the
electrode holder
5
and the earth
terminal
4
decreases, replace these
immediately.
Connect the power cable.
Set the ON/OFF switch
2
to the
“ON” position. The power indicator
lights up, the procedure can start.
To stop the procedure, set the ON/
OFF switch
2
to the “OFF” position.
Note: If the yellow control lamp
6
lights up, then this indicates overheating.
The power circuit is shut off automati-
cally. The procedure is stopped.
Attach the earth terminal
4
straight
onto the workpiece or to the base on
which the workpiece is positioned.
Note: Make sure that there is direct
contact with the workpiece. You should
therefore avoid lacquered surfaces and/
or insulating materials.
Note: The welding mask
7
must
always be used during welding
operations.
It protects the eyes from the light radia-
tion emitted by the arc and therefore
permits a clear view of the workpiece.
Note: The weldable material thickness
is 1.5 - 3.0 mm.
Welding
Once you have connected all the elec-
trical connections for the power supply
as well as for the welding current circuit,
proceed as follows:
Insert the non-coated end of the
electrode into the electrode holder
5
and connect the earth terminal
4
with the workpiece. Please ensure
good electrical conductivity.
The device has a detent to set the
electrode thickness. Switch the
device on by setting the ON/OFF
switch
2
to the “ON” position.
Then select the electrode thickness
using the manual wheel
3
: For 1.6
or 2.0 mm electrodes, set the manual
wheel
3
to the 1.6 / 2.0 position.
For 2.5 mm electrodes set the
manual wheel
3
to the 2.5 position.
Hold the welding mask
7
in front of
your face and guide the tip of the
electrode over the workpiece as if
you were going to strike a match.
This is the best way to ignite the arc.
Use a sample to test whether you
have the right electrode and current
strength on a sample.
ATTENTION!
Do not dab the workpiece with the
electrode. It could be damaged and
it could be more difficult to ignite the
