Attachment
♦ You can attach the sanding sheet 4 to the
sanding pad 3 using the Velcro.
♦ Ensure that the extraction holes on the sanding
sheet4 match up with those on the sanding
pad3. Use the sanding sheet alignment
tool9 as shown in fig. A on the fold-out page.
Removal
♦ Simply pull the sanding sheet4 off the
sanding pad3.
Dust/chip extraction
■ Please refer to the section entitled "Safety
information".
Self-extraction with dust collector
Connection
♦ Push the dust collector2 onto the appliance.
Turn the dust collector2 towards the
sym-
bol to lock it.
Removal
♦ Turn the dust collector2 towards the
symbol.
Pull the dust collector2 off the appliance (see
detailed illustration on fold-out page).
NOTE
► To ensure optimum extraction, empty the dust
collector2 regularly.
♦ To do this, remove the dust collector2 from the
appliance as described above. To do this, open
the dust collector2 by pressing on the release
button8 and pulling off the rear part (see
detailed illustration on fold-out page). Now
remove the dust bag. Clean the dust bag
thoroughly by tapping it out.
External extraction
Connecting
♦ To remove dust using a vacuum cleaner, push
the suction hose of a suitable dust extraction
device (e.g. a workshop vacuum cleaner) onto
the exhaust nozzle6.
NOTE
► If necessary, use the adapter7 by pushing it
into the exhaust nozzle6.
Removal
♦ Pull the hose of the vacuum cleaner off the
exhaust nozzle6 or the adapter7.
Use
Switching on and off
NOTE
► Always switch on the random orbital sander
before making contact with the material, then
apply it to the workpiece.
Switching on
♦ To switch the tool on, slide the ON/OFF
switch1 forwards.
Switching off
♦ Slide the ON/OFF switch1 backwards to
switch the tool off.
Speed preselection
♦ Select the required speed with the speed
control5.
Level 1: low speed
Level 6: high speed
Working procedures
■ Wait until the power tool has come to a standstill
before putting it down.
Sanding surfaces
♦ Turn on the power tool and ensure that the
whole grinding surface is in contact with the
material being worked. Move it with moderate
pressure over the workpiece.
NOTE
► The removal rate and the sanding pattern are
mainly determined by the choice of sanding
sheet and the contact pressure. Only flawless
sanding sheets achieve good sanding results.
