Attachment
♦ You can attach the sanding sheet 4 to the
sanding pad 3 using the Velcro.
♦ Ensure that the extraction holes on the sanding
sheet4 match up with those on the sanding
pad3. Use the sanding sheet alignment
tool9 as shown in fig. A on the fold-out page.
Removal
♦ Simply pull the sanding sheet4 off the
sanding pad3.
Dust/chip extraction
■ Please refer to the section entitled "Safety
information".
Self-extraction with dust collector
Connection
♦ Push the dust collector2 onto the appliance.
Turn the dust collector2 towards the
sym-
bol to lock it.
Removal
♦ Turn the dust collector2 towards the
symbol.
Pull the dust collector2 off the appliance (see
detailed illustration on fold-out page).
NOTE
► To ensure optimum extraction, empty the dust
collector2 regularly.
♦ To do this, remove the dust collector2 from the
appliance as described above. To do this, open
the dust collector2 by pressing on the release
button8 and pulling off the rear part (see
detailed illustration on fold-out page). Now
remove the dust bag. Clean the dust bag
thoroughly by tapping it out.
External extraction
Connecting
♦ To remove dust using a vacuum cleaner, push
the suction hose of a suitable dust extraction
device (e.g. a workshop vacuum cleaner) onto
the exhaust nozzle6.
NOTE
► If necessary, use the adapter7 by pushing it
into the exhaust nozzle6.
Removal
♦ Pull the hose of the vacuum cleaner off the
exhaust nozzle6 or the adapter7.
Use
Switching on and off
NOTE
► Always switch on the random orbital sander
before making contact with the material, then
apply it to the workpiece.
Switching on
♦ To switch the tool on, slide the ON/OFF
switch1 forwards.
Switching off
♦ Slide the ON/OFF switch1 backwards to
switch the tool off.
Speed preselection
♦ Select the required speed with the speed
control5.
Level 1: low speed
Level 6: high speed
Working procedures
■ Wait until the power tool has come to a standstill
before putting it down.
Sanding surfaces
♦ Turn on the power tool and ensure that the
whole grinding surface is in contact with the
material being worked. Move it with moderate
pressure over the workpiece.
NOTE
► The removal rate and the sanding pattern are
mainly determined by the choice of sanding
sheet and the contact pressure. Only flawless
sanding sheets achieve good sanding results.
