3. Remove the fill plug

and add the recommended oil as needed.
4. Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.
5. Reinstall the fill plug securely.
OIL AND FILTER CHANGE
Always change the oil and filter at the intervals outlined in the Periodic
Maintenance Chart beginning on page 49. Always change the oil filter whenever
changing oil.
NOTICE
If the ATV is left without oil in the system for extended periods, the oil pump
may lose its prime, which could result in engine damage. Always replace the oil
and filter within a few hours of draining the oil. Do not allow the vehicle to be
without oil overnight.
1. Obtain the correct oil filter and an adequate supply of oil so the oil and filter
change can be completed without interruption.
2. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
3. Clean the area around the drain plug on the bottom of the engine crankcase.
4. Run the engine for two to three minutes until warm. Stop the engine.
5. Place a drain pan beneath the engine crankcase and remove the drain plug.
Allow the oil to drain completely.
CAUTION
Hot oil can cause burns to skin. Do not allow hot oil to contact skin.
