CHAPTER 3: SETUP
It is possible to adjust several parameters of the instrument using the front panel
buttons. The number and combination of settings enabled for editing in your particular
device depends on factory pre-sets and may vary in each instrument. See below the
manufacturer default list of settings that may be enabled for editing in the instrument:
n coefficient, gamma may be setup in the range of 1.0 to 9.9 with increment of 0.1.
The manufacturer’s recommended value is 4.0.
Enable or disable the Audible alarm on reaching the alarm threshold.
Enable or disable the Vibration alarm on reaching the alarm threshold.
To enter the Setup Menu, press and hold down the MODE button . The “CAL”
message will be displayed first. Continue to hold the MODE button down until the screen
displays the first setting that can be adjusted.
NOTE: Depending on the options enabled in each particular instrument, the set of
properties available for adjustment can differ in two devices of the same model. Furthermore,
some detectors may not enter the Setup Menu at all, since the adjustment of all settings can also
be disabled using the User Software.
3.1 Setting up the n-coefficient
Press and hold down the MODE button . The “CAL” message will be displayed first.
Continue to hold the MODE button down until the screen displays the value of n-
coefficient.
To change the value of n coefficient, press the Light button . The number on the
display will blink. While the number is blinking, press the Light button again to increase
the value or press the Mode button to decrease the value.
If no button is pressed for 6 seconds, the instrument will exit the Setup Menu and
begin background calibration. Once the calibration is completed, all of the changes will be
stored in the instrument’s memory.
3.2 Enabling/disabling the audible and vibration alerts
Press and hold down the MODE button . The “CAL” message will be displayed first.
Continue to hold the MODE button down until the screen displays the value of n-
coefficient gamma. Press the MODE button once again to enter the Audible alarm setting
screen:
