9. Precautions when using Type G2 White Ink
1. When using Type G2 White Ink, the white density may become Lower at the following times.
・When opening and using a new cartridge.
・When using cartridges that have been stored for a long time.
・When replacing cleaning solution with white ink.
・When the cartridge agitation interval exceeds 2 days (48 hours).
If the white density becomes lower at any of these times, agitate the cartridge at least 200
times.
If the white density remains lower even after the additional agitation described above, agitate
the cartridge again and repeat “strong” head cleaning 3 to 4 times consecutively.
In addition to the above, RICOH Ri 1000 and RICOH Ri 1000X change White 2 (Highlight)
from "Off" to "Filling" in the "Print Mode" tab of the Advanced Settings as a printing condition.
This makes it possible to print 100% white areas of image data with white ink at the same
time when printing color images with CMYK ink, in addition to printing white ink as a
underbase, so that the white density in 100% white areas can be printed densely.
However, printing costs will increase due to the increased amount of white ink used.
For the RICOH Ri 1000X, white printing mode can be changed to 1200x1200dpi 16Pass with
a limit of 50 to prevent a decrease in white density while maintaining the same amount of
white ink used.
However, printing time will be longer due to the increased number of “Pass” during printing.
Please check page 69 of RICOH Ri 1000X user manual for information on how to change the
white print mode and limit in the [settings] under “Advanced” in [Color] tab.
2. If white ink stains on the platen are noticeable after printing is completed, please clean the
platen.
