* When power is turned on, the unit will always be at the
Mode 1 setting.
* Program Changes will not be sent out when you press a
voice button while the unit is in Modes 1 and 2. You will
need to use the procedure explained on the next page if
you wish to transmit Program Changes while using Modes
1 and 2. Note that while in Mode 3, however, the Program
Change corresponding to whatever voice button is
pressed will always be transmitted.

Transmitting
While holding down the FUNCTION button, press the keys
corresponding to the Group, Bank, and Number which make
up the Program Change message you wish to transmit.
* In the Mode 3 Transmission/Reception mode, the appro-
priate Program Change message will be transmitted when-
ever you press a Voice button.

When a Program Change message is received, a change is made
to the correspondingly numbered Voice, as shown below
* Program Changes except those mentioned above will be
ignored.
* Use only connection cables supplied by your Roland
dealer.

Computer Interface
This socket allows you to connect your HP-236 to a comput-
er (PC - MS Dos), thereby eliminating the need of a dedicat-
ed MIDI interface for your computer.
Connecting your HP-236 to a computer you will acces, using
the proper programs, to the fantastic world of DTMP (you
could record your own songs into the computer and then
playback it and much more).
