15. Troubleshooting
The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to
work properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Fault Possible cause Remedy
Engine fails to start.
Spark plug wire disconnected.
Attach spark plug wire securely to
spark plug.
Out of fuel or stale fuel. Fill with clean, fresh gasoline.
Throttle control lever not in
correct starting position.
Move throttle control lever to start
position.
Choke not in ON Position.
Throttle must be positioned at
choke for a cold start.
Blocked fuel line. Clean the fuel line.
Fouled spark plug. Clean, adjust gap, or replace.
Wait a few minutes to restart, but
do not prime.
Engine runs erratically.
Spark plug wire loose.
Connect and tighten spark plug
wire.
Unit running on CHOKE. Move choke lever to OFF.
Blocked fuel line or stale fuel.
Clean fuel line. Fill tank with clean,
fresh gasoline.
Vent plugged. Clear vent.
Water or dirt in fuel system.

Engine overheats.

Engine will not stop when throttle
